How to apply

We greatly appreciate your interest in Nehemiah Gateway University. The admission process at our University is broad – based and it includes a thorough review of every single application to ensure a proper selection of applicants for the challenging study programmes. The following general admission procedure is valid for all applications to the N.G. University, regardless of whether they are for a Bachelor or a Master study program.

International Students
For international applicants, the enrolment in the University, in addition to the requirements mentioned above, is also subject to the recognition of their degree / diplomas (earned abroad) in accordance with the Albanian legislation as well as subject to the obtainment of a valid residence permit allowing the prospective student to study in Albania.Normally the applicant is personally responsible to ensure fulfilment of the requirements above. N.G. University provide applicants, upon request, with help and information regarding the recognition of degrees and Obtainment of a valid residence permit. Guest Students

Admission Procedure

The Admission Procedure at the N.G. University includes four steps:

Admission requirement application documents and enrollment procedures for the study programs at Nehemiah Gateway University are categorized below:

A.    The minimum admission requirements

B.    Application documents  

C.    Admission procedures and enrollment (tests and interview) – admission requirement

 

The Bachelor (first cycle) Dual Study Program for “Economy and Businesses”, Department of “Business and Economics”, Faculty of Business and Technology: 

A.    The minimum admission requirements:

 

1.     State Matura Average Grade: at least 7

2.     Possess English language skills, at B2 level, confirmed through an English Proficiency test from the University

3.     Mathematics skills from the compulsory state Matura Exam must be at least 8, confirmed through the admission test from the University

4.     A copy of the agreement with the professional business partner where the applicant will do his/her practical training. (The Bachelor (first cycle) program for “Economy and Businesses” is a dual study program where theory and practical are combined 50/50. For more information you can visit the website of N.G. Once the above 4 requirements are met, the following is required:

2.     A letter of motivation explaining why the applicant wishes to study at N.G. University and in the specific course

3.      The original Albania A-Level graduation diploma and with transcript of grades along with notarized photocopies with the original, confirmed by respective local educational department.  

4.     A copy of the prospective student’s identity card or passport

5.     The Addendum no.1 based on the Order no.13 date 22.07.2016, completed and signed

6.     Two personal photos  

7.     For applicants who have a High School Diploma from an institution outside of Albania, the applicant must request confirmation of degree equivalent from the Ministry of Education and Sport.

8.     Curriculum Vitae

9.     Two letters of recommendation concerning the personal character and academic potential of the prospective student. The letters need to be written by pedagogic or academic personnel of the school last attended and/or by the last employer.

10.   A signed written statement where the applicant agrees to abide by the N.G. University standards concerning academic honesty and personal conduct (for detailed information on these standards see Student Handbook or University Catalog)

11.    A statement from a recognized doctor that the applicant is not suffering from infectious (transmittable) diseases at the time of application

12.   Proof of payment of the application fee (for Albanian students). For more information your can visit our website (ng-university.org)

 

The above application documents are required before continuing the admission process.

 

C.    Admission Procedures:

 

      The applicant may enroll as a student at N.G. University only after s/he has successfully completed admission procedures as required by this university. Registering as an applicant to N.G. University through the University’s on-line portal, or selecting N.G. University through the online portal administrated by the Ministry of Education and Sport or other agencies responsible, does not mean automatic enrollment at N.G. University. The minimum requirements of admission must be met.  Meeting the minimum criteria of admission is not a guarantee for automatic enrollment to N.G. University. Specific procedures of enrollment to become a student at the N.G. University, is combined with the procedures followed by the Ministry of Education and Sport, as follows: 

 

1.      Admission tests

·       Admission test includes test of knowledge for Math’s and English

·       Admission test has specific weight of 50%

·       Applicant must receive minimum 26% to 50% on the test in order to continue to the interview.  

 

2.     Interview with applicant

·       Applicants who meet the above requirements are invited to an interview to evaluate the general knowledge of the applicant, his/her attitude and motivation for the challenge of N.G. University dual program, skills of expression and communication in English, agreement with the professional business partner where the applicant wishes to develop the practical training, and discuss the financial ability to complete the program.

·       During the interview, each topic that is addressed is evaluated by a commission of evaluators who assign a percentage grade for each topic. All applicants are then put in order of the total percentage in order to determine the top applicants.     

·       The interview has a specific weight of 50%.

 

Prospective students may enroll in preparatory courses for English and Mathematics three months before the beginning of the academic year. Applicants who do not meet the minimum score for English and /or Math are required to attend the above preparatory courses if they want to enroll and continue studies at N.G. University. The cost of the preparatory courses is the responsibility of the applicant. 

 

In the Master (second cycle) study program in “Leadership and Assessment in Education”, Department of Education and Ethics, Faculty of Humanities:

 

A.    The minimum admission requirements:

 

1.     English certificate according to the Order no.52 date 03.12.2015

2.     Average grade according to the Decision of the Council of the Ministry.

 

Once the above 2 requirements are meet, the following is required:

1.     The request to enroll addressed to N.G. University for the study program (Online application form and letter of motivation)

2.     A notarized photocopy of the Bachelor (first cycle) degree completed in Republic of Albania. 

3.     Any applicant who has a B.A. degree from an institution outside of Albania, must request confirmation of degree equivalent from the Ministry of Education and Sport.

4.     The notarized photocopy of the Albania A-Level graduation diploma along with transcript of grades.

5.     A copy of the prospective student’s identity card or passport

6.     Two personal photos 

7.     Curriculum Vitae

8.     Two letters of recommendation concerning the personal character and academic potential of the prospective student. The letters need to be written by pedagogic or academic personnel of the school last attended and/or by the last employer

The above application documents are required to continue the admission process.

 

C.                 Admission procedures:

 

The applicant may enroll as a student at N.G. University only after s/he has successfully completed all admission procedures required by this university. The minimum requirements of admission must be met.  Meeting the minimum criteria of admission is not a guarantee for automatic enrollment to N.G. University. Specific procedures of enrollment to become a student at the N.G. University, is combined with the procedures followed by the Ministry of Education and Sport, as follow:

 

·       Applicants who meet the above requirements are invited to an interview to evaluate the general knowledge of the applicant, his/her attitude and motivation for the challenge of N.G. University, skills of expression and communication in English, and discuss their financial ability to complete the program.

·       The interview has a specific weight of 100%. The applicant has to receive 51% in order to continue or to be enrolled.

·       During the interview, each topic that is addressed is evaluated by a commission of evaluators who assign a percentage grade for each topic. All applicants are then put in order of the total percentage in order to determine the top applicants.    

   

Step 1: Submission of a valid application

Applications for admission to N.G. University shall be submitted via the online system of the university. Applications submitted via email shall be considered only in exceptional cases after prior agreement with the university.

Paper applications will not be considered. An application is considered complete and regularly submitted only when apart from the application form, it contains also the required supplementary documents, as listed below:

Step 2: Taking of a test

Subject to successful submission of an application, the applicant may be required to take a test. This test can be an examination of the knowledge acquired in different subjects in the pre-university level, and/or general questions regarding the field of study the applicant wishes to pursue at N.G. University. NEHEMIA School students who have successfully completed their high school requirements do not have to take this standardized test. The Admission Commission appoints the persons responsible for designing the test and evaluating it. The test is to be designed not earlier than 2 days before the day when the test is taken. The date, time and the place of the test will be announced through  the internet or other print media not later than 1 month before the test date.

 

The Admission Commission reserves the right to exempt certain applicants from taking the test and to continue the admission procedure or make a final decision regarding the application without the standardized test. In any case, the applicant will be informed accordingly.

Step 3: Personal interview

The Admission Commission arranges an interview for those applicants who successfully pass the application and standardized test steps of the admissions process. This interview can be held on the N.G. University campus in Bucimas, Pogradec, or by telephone or other means of telecommunication if you cannot attend in person. The personal interview is an opportunity for the Admission Commission to get to know the applicant better. It allows the applicant to learn more about the program s/he has chosen to study. The interview enables the Commission to evaluate qualities that cannot be assessed in the application documents, such as the personality, personal opinions, communication skills and language level oft he applicant.

 

The Personal interview is not a test. It may last between 30 – 45 minutes. The aim is to insure that the study programme chosen by the applicant is suitable and that the applicant will be able to meet the academic requirements of the programme.

 

The applicant will be officially notified as to the final decision of the Admission Commission not later than 3 weeks after the interview has taken place.

Step 4: Enrolment (registration)

Upon receipt of a positive official notification by the Admission Commission, the applicant has the right to enroll with the N.G. University. The enrolment at the university is the last step of the admission process. An applicant is officially enrolled as student when it has validly signed a study contract (as well as other documents required by the university) and it has paid the tuition or other fees as specified in the study contract and/or other documents officially issued by the university.

  

Applications for dual study programmes


For applicants wishing to pursue a dual study programme, the successful submission of an application is subject to a positive agreement with a professional partner (including also business firms as well as other private organisations or public institutions) or with the partner organisation, which is sending the applicant, where the prospective student will do the practical training through out the whole duration of the studies. The agreement with the professional partner should be reached before the applicant submits the application to study at N.G. University.

 

To be able to apply at the University, the applicant should submit a copy of the a greement with the firm or with the partner organisation. A model agreement with the firm or with the partner organisation can be downloaded from the website of the University. Normally, the applicant is personally responsible to contact the professional partner that would be willing to provide the practical training, according to the requirements of the dual study programme of N.G. University. The applicant is required to obtain the approval of the University regarding the suitability of the firm for the purposes of the dual study program. Alternatively, the applicant may choose one the approved professional partners of N.G. University. A list of these approved partners can be found in the website of the University.
